Five Months and a Haircut

Harrison turned 5 months on the 26th of December.  I can't believe his has been here for such a short time.  It seems like he's been a part of our lives forever.  We are truly blessed to have him in our lives.  Currently he's working on sitting for longer periods of time, unassisted.  He's come a long way in the last couple of days and can stay upright for about 20 seconds.  Then something will catch his eye and he falls over trying to reach said item.  He really loves his new exersaucer and has a great time rocking it back and forth.  He has become more vocal recently and loves to scream.  He's not upset, just so excited that all he can do is scream.  Sometimes he sounds like a seal barking.  It's really fun to listen too and he loves an audience.  He enjoys tasting new foods.  He's had a variety of fruits and a couple different veggies.  Oddly enough, he really likes green beans and prunes.  We're pretty sure he is in the process of teething.  His lower gums are swollen and he chews on everything.  He's been really good during this and doesn't fuss much.  I'll miss his cute gummy smiles but can't wait to see those cute little teeth pop through.

We've been putting it off for a while because neither of us wanted to cut his hair, but the time arrived that it had to get trimmed.  It was starting to get in his eyes and the back was looking a little too long.  So Josh and my mom collaborated to give him his very first haircut.  To keep him still, Harrison got to enjoy a soft peppermint stick.  Needless to say, he loved this.  By the end he was a sticky, hairy mess but happy.  The home haircut was pretty good, but we decided to take him the next day to get it cleaned up a bit.  He was such a good boy sitting on my lap in the chair, but he kept turning his head toward the sound of the clippers.  So we gave him a sucker and that kept him busy for a while.  Sadly, I forgot both the camera and the video camera so we don't have a picture of the trip to the barbershop, but we do have some pictures of Josh cutting his hair.  I have to say, I really miss his long hair, but he sure is cute with it all cleaned up.  Hopefully we can make it another 5 months before we have to cut it again.
